Reflexology: Definition
“Reflexology is a protocol of manual techniques, such as thumb and finger-walking, hook and backup and rotating-on-a-point, applied to specific reflex areas predominantly on the feet and hands. These techniques stimulate the complex neural pathways linking body systems, supporting the body’s efforts to function optimally.
The effectiveness of reflexology is recognized worldwide by various national health institutions and the public at large as a distinct complementary practice within the holistic health field.”

Reflexology teaches that a vital energy, or life force, circulates between the organs of the body, permeating every living cell and tissue. If the energy becomes blocked, then that part of the body relating to the blockage is affected. Energy blocks in the body are reflected on the hands and feet. Through the stimulation of the circulatory  and lymphatic systems, and encouraging the release of toxins, reflexology promotes and supports the bodies own healing abilities.

Reflexology is a unique modality in the health field. It’s purpose is not to treat or diagnose for any specific disorder, but to promote better health and well-being.

Some benefit of reflexology may include:

Increased circulation–carries more oxygen and nutrients to all parts of the body, restoring internal balance and enhancing the bodies ability to heal itself.
Stress reduction–helps us to manage our stress.
Lowers blood pressure, and blood sugar during treatment.
And much more
